The Day Death Went Away Chapter 9 celebration

Chapter 9 celebration
Mark and Ruby drove into town it was lit up with all kinds of lights; it was as if Christmas had come early. Ruby hands were still shaking on the wheel of the car. Mark himself was in bewilderment “did that really just happen.” He played the event over again in his mind reliving he heroic actions.
“Thank you.” Ruby said in a clam soft voice almost a whisper. Mark turned to face Ruby.
“It was nothing.” He said with a cold shrug. She turned her head back to road and smiled. The car came to stop in the middle of town, Mark look ahead a huge crowd of people were dancing in the street.
“It doesn’t look like we will be getting though that crowed anytime soon, I will park the car.” They found an open space just outside the old frog horn pub. The creepy frog that sits just on top of the doors always give Mark the creeps with its blazing red eyes and at night time they glow brightly which added to the creepiness.
“How far away is your house from here” Ruby asked
“Not far about 20 minutes.” He said as he put his hand on the door. Rubies quickly clutched hold of Marks hand and shut the door.
“It’s not safe to go out there not with them crazy people out there. We should just sit in the car and wait it out.”
Mark could see Ruby was shaken up still but he just wanted desperately more than anything just to get back home. Ruby hands were still holding onto Marks. He could feel her hands shaking in his. It made him feel uncomfortable. Ruby began talking again but her voice was softer more clams “that woman they were talking about on the radio Mary Dawn.”
“Just let go already” he was about to say but was interrupted by Ruby sudden screaming, as brick came huddling at the wind-shield. Ruby ducked down in the seat. Mark opened the door he was not scared and got out the car. Looking onwards he saw a bunch of kids laughing as they were running off. He thought they could be no older than twelve. They knocked over a trash bin laughing and shouted out too Mark. “Hey loser, come and get us we not scared nothing can hurt us haha!.”  Mark chose to ignore the kids and get back in the car. Ruby sat back up looking at her now spider webbed wind-shield.  “Just a bunch of little kids” Mark said.
“I can’t drive this car like this; I can’t see anything out of it”

“Well I guess I’m walking it then.” Which was fine by Mark, he had it up to here with everything that had happened today.  Ruby clutched on to Marks hand.  “You’re just going leave me here?” she exclaimed. “No, you coming with?” he said. Ruby nodded at Mark and they proceeded to get out the car.  A baled headed man came staggering out the pub yelling out on to the streets “Everyone hurry you need to see this.”
